Serendipity, for ‘Crying’ out loud
Avid moviegoers across the country will soon be listening to lyrics and music from one of Cebu’s top music groups today.
Serendipity has a song in the soundtrack for Sharon Cuneta’s latest movie, Crying Ladies, a Unitel Production. The movie is Unitel’s Manila Film Festival offering. Sharon Cuneta takes the lead role for the movie with Hilda Koronel, Ricky Davao and Angel Aquino as co-stars.
Titled Para Sa ‘Yo, Serendipity’s contribution to the Crying Ladies is an original composition by Serendipity’s musical director and keyboard artist Anthony Feliciano. Serendipity was among the groups that were requested to provide a song for the movie’s soundtrack.
“Crying Ladies is very much about relationships and how they pull you through situations in life. What grabbed me was how Sharon’s character and her friends helped each other out through those situations… of course, all of the acting is first rate I mean, you can’t go wrong with Sharon Cuneta starring in the movie. Thinking about it, she’s also a very accomplished singer so even the artists on the soundtrack have that incentive to up the ante a bit in terms of the submitted material,” says Anthony.
Para Sa ‘Yo is sung by Serendipity’s trio of vocalists, Carl de Villa, Alcee Monteras, and Rio Siao. Moviegoers may also catch a glimpse of Serendipity in action as Unitel from Serendipity’s shoot in Plantation Bay Mactan. The music video will be available on DVD to be released by Untiel Productions in the future.
With a recent international performance in Palay and the inclusion in a movie’s soundtrack, Serendipity is shaping up to be one of the more formidable musical influences in Cebu today.
